To avoid any chance of overturn the maximum speed
on gravel roads is 50 km/h.
In order to avoid problems with the doors you should park facing the
wind.
Remember, in Patagonia the effect of the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays
on the skin is very severe. In these latitudes the ozone layer is
thinnest during spring and summer (from September to February). The
diminishing ozone layer, combined with our sunny skies, dry lands,
and proximity to beaches and the ocean (sand and water both reflect
UV rays), means that the sun here is especially harmful.
Therefore, it’s best to stay out of the sun between 11:30 a.m. and
3:30 p.m. If you must be in the sun, put on sunscreen at least 40
minutes before going out (people with light skin should use
sunscreen with an SPF factor of 40 or more), wear sunglasses to
protect your eyes, and wear a long-sleeved shirt.
Bring light clothing that is comfortable for warm weather when you
visit Peninsula Valdez, because the temperature hovers around 85
degrees Fahrenheit. But bring a jacket, because the temperatures can
plummet once the sun goes down.
